You can interact with other members of the Metasploit community on the official Metasploit SILC channel. This channel (metasploit) is hosted on the silc.hick.org SILC server. You can access this server using the Pidgin IM client or the official SILC client. To connect using pidgin, you need to configure a new account and join the Metasploit channel:- 1) Access the Accounts menu, select the Add/Edit option
- 2) Click the Add button on the bottom of the window
- 3) From the Protocol list, select SILC
- 4) Enter your handle into the screen name field
- 5) Select the Advanced tab, enter silc.hick.org for the connect server
- 6) Click Save
$ silc -c silc.hick.org
The first time you run this, silc will generate a new key pair for you. Just follow the prompts until the key is generated and the client connects to the server. Once you see the welcome message from the server, type "/join metasploit" to access our channel. If the silc client immediately exits after you run this command, you may need to set the real name field in your system's passwd file.
